ICE & SNOW CRITTERS EVENTS FALL COLOR HOME PAGE
Lee finally found a good barber. Too bad his shop is in Pentwater.
Dot also found a stylist she likes, and a new 'do.

Here are two guys (John Bellingham and Lee), wearing their torn and patched work jackets, setting a stepping stone into the pond.
Nephew Rob and family came from Slovenia for a January visit. Rob and Lee ventured out in a heavy snowfall to pull some ice storm debris from the pond. Of course, snow is a kid's paradise, especially this much when you don't have it at home! Lee's player piano is always a hit. Usually, that is the first thing kids go to when them come in the house.
Grand neice Beth, husband Ben and daughter Lauren also visited this summer. They used to live in Lansing when Beth was doing her Residency at Sparrow Hospital. When we baby-sat Lauren at our house, she loved to "play" the piano. On this visit, Lauren said she remembered playing it when she was here as a baby. Whether or not, she got back into it quickly -- a musician at heart, growing up fast!
While Luka played the piano, Rob and Ella danced. Ella loved that big 'ole hat! More dancing with Janja, as Ella fell asleep.
Finally the river went back into its banks, and Lee was able to burn the debris from the December ice storm -- in May!
Lee thought this sign appropriate for his Sister, Janet's, cottage in Pentwater. Enjoying it are his Mom, Janet, Lee, and Dot behind the camera. Larry (Lee's Brother) and Lee doing the dishes at Pentwater. So good to see men at work! A favorite pasttime in Pentwater is to stroll out to the lighthouse, or just sit and watch the beautiful sunsets.

STRUDEL MAKING
It is becoming a tradition for the Bensings (Dot's Sister, Jen, & Brother-in- Law, Jerry) and their Daughter Di Oster, to come to Wacousta around Dot's birthday to make strudel -- a traditional Potter family celebration food. This year, we were joined by Niece Julie Abedian, who lent a hand as well as video-taping the event for posterity.

Of course, a lot more goes into this than is expressed here, but you'll have to watch Julie's video to see it all.

THANKSGIVING

This year, Kelly tried something new: Deep fried turkey. He did his homework -- no explosions, fires or other pyrotechnic events, just a super-delicious bird that supplemented the brined, roasted turkey provided by Tom.

9 pies plus a pumpkin flan, all made from scratch by Julie. Plus one provided by Vache and Sarah. Do you think there was enough?

Go, Sarah, go! Tom is really pumping! Vache really got into it. Then the master took a turn.
