This year's Spring flood nearly spilled into the pond. The flood lasted nearly two months, with the result that most of the grass near the river drowned, and did not revive.

Summer rain replenishing the pond and the river, and keeping things green.

And then, on Nov. 29 - 30, a heavy wet first snowfall of the year made for a Winter Wonderland, but with much devastation for the mid-Michigan trees. We woke up to this:
This snow melted, it rained some more, and the river was once again in flood.
