When Spring finally did come, Mother Nature did provide us with quite a show of flowering perennials, though the buds on trees were killed in the Spring freezes.
Spring did bring other problems: Dot's brother nearly died from Sepsis in April. He is still battling subsequent illnesses, though he hopes to be going home by March of 2013.
When John was taken from the hospital in St. Joseph to a Rehab facility in Okemos, Lee asked the ambulance driver if he should show the driver the way. The driver responded that Lee wouldn't want to go as fast as the ambulance travels in such circumstances. And indeed, we saw the ambulance returning to St. Joseph while we were still 20 minutes away from our Okemos destination.
Lee and Dot both had subsequent encounters with ambulances. Dot found herself in the hospital twice this Summer, and Lee landed there three times. We are both doing fine now, Dot taking medication for tachycardia and Lee having his gall bladder removed.
